The Sports Centre

Construction on our new Sports Centre has begun with a view for completion by the summer of 2022. Once finished, this new facility will feature:

  • A multi-use sports centre with spectator gallery: conforming to Sport England's guidelines for space required for badminton, netball, volleyball, basketball and football

  • Audio/visual equipment: enabling presentations to be delivered to all students and allow for additional learning opportunities

  • Two fully refurbished gymnasiums: providing contemporary and flexible multi-use training spaces for dance, martial arts, and other health & fitness activities and pursuits

  • Refurbished changing rooms: providing hygienic and private changing facilities, in a welcoming and secure environment, to encourage and increase participation in PE and sports

Although primarily designated as a sports centre, the exciting modern design includes a large open area and viewing gallery which lend themselves to a huge variety of uses from music to drama to extra curricular clubs .

When I was at Tiffin Girls’, I played hockey and netball which I absolutely love. I didn’t know that sport was going to become the backbone of my life. I knew I loved learning, I loved competing with my friends and I wanted to be better every day. I’m so excited to hear about the new sports centre. I can only imagine the memories, the competitions, the learning that is going to happen in that environment.

Before joining Tiffin Girls', I must say that I lacked confidence. I never really put myself forward for a position nor for a team; I was an introvert to say the least. However, in Year 7, I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined numerous sports teams. Over the past 5 years, P.E and sports at Tiffin Girls' has made me a confident, bubbly, and extroverted individual. The new sports centre will be amazing as it will provide more opportunities for all students and allow them to step forward and take them just like I did.
